Friday Confessional: Eating My Words

Photobucket

Well it's Friday again and you know what that mean!
Time to air all that dirty laundry!
Let it all out!
Tell us what you really think!
Or don't...
...but you know you want to!
Anyway, let's go.

I confess...
  • I am up feeding the baby as I write this.
  • Normally I would be watching Netflix at this blessed time
  • But we are at my Gramma's house and, well, my husband couldn't find the remote to switch the VCR to TV so he could set up his Netflix compatible device in the bedroom.
  • So I turned on my laptop and use it for light instead.
  • Heaven forbid I turn on a lamp or something!!
  • Meh, lamps are too bright,  I prefer the warming glow of a TV or computer screen.
  • Also with nothing to focus on, I tend to get a serious case of narcolepsy.
  • You know what I mean, right?
  • The whole I can't keep my eyes open for one more second and then suddenly you catch your head as it falls forward and jerk it back up right at the last second?!
  • You see it happen all the time at church.
  • I like to call it the "high councel bob"
  • Anyway why are we at my Gramma's house you ask?
  • Well, my friends, the time has officially come.
  • Thor sold his truck this week and we are not the type of family to survive on one car.
  • SO it's mini cruzer time for us!
  • Please promise me you'll still be my friends, even though I drive a mini van.
  • Aw jeesh,
  • But we decided to come to Utah because, let's be honest, it's basically used mini van capitol of the world.
  • Not to offend, but seriously. Look around.
  • It'a a mini van-palooza down here!
  • Which can work in our favor.
  • We basically have quite a few to choose from that fall well within our price range.
  • So I'll keep you posted on the details of our find as soon as I know.
  • There are a couple really nice ones we've found...
  • Nice as far as mini cruzers are concerned...
  • I still have a bad attitude about it.
  • But in all honesty, they are a good solution for us right now.
  • And, how did my brother put it?
  • Oh yeah.  Practical.
  • I sorta hate being old enough to have to be practical.
  • Ah well.
  • It will only be for a little while, a few years maybe.
  • We are not the type of family to survive with two car payments.
  • So we're being smart and PRACTICAL and all the adult bull crap.
  • Man I hate being a grown up sometimes.
  • I wanna be that young punk who stays up really late
  • And drives a fun car
  • And eats whatever the crap I wanna without worrying about the consequences.
  • And can shop for clothes and sunglasses and cds whenever
  • And has no bills or major financial worries.
  • Yeah, good times.
  • Naw, actually, I'm pretty cool with where I'm at right now.
  • Mostly.
  • You know, it really is beautiful this time of morning.
  • Right before the sun comes up.
  • I always think that I should really get up earlier so I can enjoy this time of day.
  • So peaceful and serene and beautiful.
  • And then my narcolepsy sets in and I wake up 3 hours later slumped over, drooling on my baby's head.
  • Ah yes, I do love my sleep.
  • Early mornings are for chumps!
  • And so are mini vans!
  • Both of which, I'm finding out, are apparently inevitable in my life right now.
  • So I'd better suck it up.
  • Or be in denial.
  • Either way, it appears I'm up at  6 am and we'll be caravaning home tonight.
  • Man oh man.
  • Actually, my baby is sleeping again.
  • So if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go stick it to early mornings
  • And take a little nap.
  • Ha ha!  Take THAT getting up early!
  • Who's the chump now!!?!
So join us, won't you?  Link up and play.

We Want To Know Wednesday

Photobucket
Welcome to We Want to Know Wednesday Q&A
Hosted by Mamarazzi and Queso
Here we go!

#1 Who would you call if you had to get bailed out of jail?
My husband, my Momma, or my Steph, depending on the situation and who was sitting in the cell with me of course.  Man I need to find myself a well-off friend for this very situation, you know, for posting bail, paying the damages, replacing any clothing I may or may not be wearing and whatnot.  I'll call them my 'sugar aquaintace' or 'bailout buddy' or, well, we can work out the name later.  Any takers?

#2  If you were a superhero what would your hero name be?
Um, how about 'The StingRae'.  Yes!  Now for those of you keeping track, you know that would also be my wrestling name, but I think it works for both.  In fact, maybe I'll be a wrestling superhero!  I could lay a little piledriver on those bad guy butts, or throw them into a jackhammer and then a figure four leg lock!  Yeah, that's right, bad guy!  Had enough?!  Here's a sleeper hold for ya!  And then to totally finish them off, a powerbomb courtesy of Captain Insano.
Ha ha I love that movie.  Hey!  Maybe my superhero name should be Captain Insano!  Excellent.  I know, I know, try not to be jealous of my superior professional wrestling knowledge...what?  Wrestling is still cool, right?!

#3 What do you think is one of your best qualities?
My best quality would probably have to be that I am kind.  I am kind to a fault, actually.  I am very easy-going and give people the benefit of the doubt and basically trust everyone.  I've let people borrow my car, people I have known for less than an hour even.  I am trusting and nice and have been screwed over 12 ways from Sunday, and yet I continue to give.  I have been known as having a hard time saying no, and some people know this and use it to their advantage.  It is my very weakness and could eventually lead to my ultimate downfall...but I think it's good to be nice.  And kind.  I've learned to stand up for myself so I'm not a total doormat anymore, but still, ask me anything.  I'll probably find a way to get it done.

#4 What song would you pick to be your own personal theme song?
I've got a MILLION theme songs!!  Every day, every situation deserves a theme song!!
In high school and college it was 'All The Small Things' by Blink 182.  Because I have no butt and I was head chief captain of the Itty Bitty Titty Committee.  Get it?  Small things?!  Well, thanks to little miss Amelia, head chief captain I am not.  Not by a long shot. Alas.

These days my theme song has been 'Perfect' by Pink.  This song came to me on a particularly hard day.  I was pregnant, my husband was gone, my kids were being crazy and not listening to anything I said, and Izacc's teacher had said something that really hurt and offended me. I was angry and sad and really in a bad mood.  I was doubting myself and my kids and thinking there was something wrong with them, or me, or all of us.  I had heard this song on the radio a zillion times and never thought anything of it,  That day, for some reason, I watched this video.

And I don't want to sound like an idiot, but it basically changed my life.  I still can't listen to this song without crying.  Watch the video.  Really.  (Don't worry, it's the clean version)

Oh and also 'The Final Countdown' by Europe.

It fits EVERYTHING, am I right!!  You can't tell me that listening to it doesn't make you wanna run or fight or dance!  Even baking seems amazing to this song.

#5 What celebrity do you think is most over rated?
A lot of them are WAAAY overrated, but topping my list would have to be Heidi Montag and stupid Kate Gosselin,  Seriously people?!?

Friday Confessional: I'm Gettin' On The Bus!

Photobucket

Friday again! Yay!
It' time to get this party started I suppose!
Here we go.

I confess...
  • I am really glad it's Friday.
  • It's been a really loong week.
  • Izacc stared his Kindergarten Transition
  • Which is him going to his new school for 4 weeks
  • And learning how to ride the bus
  • And eat in the cafeteria
  • And sit still and listen in class.
  • Basically teaching him how to go to school.
  • It's been a rough week around here.
  • Lil miss likes to eat all night
  • And school starts at 8:30 am.
  • It's cramping my style I tell ya.
  • Mommy is sleepy!!
  • And my 4 year old is out in the big wide world all by himself
  • Eating in a cafeteria
  • Going to recess.
  • Riding the bus
  • I'm not sure how he's old enough to even be going to school.
  • Two days ago I went to pick him up and he wasn't there.
  • I panicked.
  • And ran over to where the buses were getting ready to leave.
  • He was on one of the buses.
  • Not sure where they were going to send him
  • I had not signed off on a bus ride.
  • He cried when I took him off the bus.
  • He really wanted to ride it.
  • So the next day, I went to office, picked a stop and signed him up to ride it home.
  • And I walked over to the bus stop.
  • And the bus came...and left...
  • And Izacc didn't get off the bus.
  • He wasn't even on the bus.
  • I panicked.
  • And may have said a choice word.
  • And then prayed.
  • I didn't know what to do!
  • I a 15 minute walk away from my car.
  • And my husband didn't have his phone with him.
  • And I didn't have the number to the school in my phone.
  • I know, mother of the year strikes again.
  • So I started running back to my house.
  • And saw the bus turning around.
  • So I turned around and ran back to meet it.
  • If anyone was watching me out of their window I'm sure it was quite a show.
  • Crazy lady with a double stroller and a baby in a sling running back and forth down the street.
  • I'm basically awesome.
  • The bus driver asked who I was waiting for.
  • I told her.
  • She said he'd never ridden the bus before so they kept him.
  • I told her it was supposed to be his first day.
  • She went back to get him.
  • I was shaking.
  • My little baby out there
  • All the scenarios running through my mind...
  • Why is it in a moment of mini crisis, all I can think about is the worst possible scenario?!
  • Like him getting on the wrong bus and ending up somewhere out on the Reservation?!
  • Or, gosh, it's ridiculous to think about now.
  • But he made it and the bus driver was very apologetic.
  • And I was very apologetic.
  • And we've hopefully got it worked out.
  • I pick him up here pretty soon...we'll see how it goes.
  • Ah stress.
  • Can't wait for tomorrow
  • No buses, no school, no panicking mama.
  • Whew hooray for the weekend.

Go over, link up and play along with Mamarazzi.
You know you want to!!

Prepare To Be Amazed

Yo.  How's it goin?  Me?  I'm good, good.  A little tired, you know, on account of this little miss who feels the need to eat at all hours of the night.  But you know, what else is new?

I actually just wanted to post a little bit as to what's been going on in the life of Camie Rae as of late.  It's been awhile since I posted anything other than cute pictures of my cute kids and just felt the need to get some things off my (ever expanding) chest.

  1. Thom and I had a fight about a CSI episode the other night.  A huge fight.  Probably one of the most ridiculous fights we've ever had.  And it wasn't about a CSI episode per say. it was more because of a CSI episode.  In all fairness to CSI, it easily could have been any other show...maybe...anyway it was not awesome. And though our fights can get pretty epic, add some sleep deprivation and hormones into the mix and see what comes out.  WEEEEEE! good times.
  2. I am so head over heels in love with Amelia it's insane.  INSANE I TELL YOU!  She is amazing and we're all madly in love with her.  At least I think we are...it's hard to tell what Ian is saying most of the time, but I think he pokes her in the eye out of nothing but love.  Izacc has taken to getting her out of her car seat and carrying her across the room while I was in the bathroom unbeknownst to me, which terrifies be to no end.  I love having a girl and dressing her up and styling her mullet and loving on her and opening her diaper and not seeing peen staring back at me waiting to spray me with that first brisk waft of air.  She's awesome.
  3. It's been three days since my last vanilla shake.  My name is Camie and I have a problem.
  4. I am ALMOST back into my regular pants.  I wore a pair today in fact.  Let's hear it for having girls, apparently, because I had to take drastic measures to get back into my pants after having the boys...ha ha back into my pants...that's what she said.  But seriously, yay for that.
  5. Did you know it's possible and OK to make friends you've never met in person?  For example, I have met a lot of fun, hilarious people through blogging and Facebook and we've never ever met in real life, but I would totally consider them my friends.  It's interesting. I wanna have a big bloggy party and meet all these people because there are a few that I'm positive would be the most awesome people to hang out with.
  6. My appetite is out of control these days.  I blame Amelia and her aforementioned need to eat ALL THE TIME.  On a related note, I am catching up on a lot of Netflix viewing at 2, 4, and 6 am.
  7. I go to the Dr tomorrow.  It's almost been 6 weeks. My husband couldn't be happier.
  8. I just spent two evenings cleaning the boy's room.  I kinda wanna purge about half their toys and forbid anyone from buying them gifts that aren't clothing or books until they're teenagers, when they won't want toys anymore.  That could work, right?!  Seriously, everything is organized just the way I want it, why can't they just leave it that way?!
  9. I have a hate/hate relationship with doing the laundry, but not so much when it's all pink.
  10. I have a lot of blogging to catch up on.  Mostly over on the old craft blog *ahem* as in a baby shower I threw and all the crafty goodness that went into it.  I am so behind that the babies who's momma's I threw it for just turned one...yeah I sorta suck at blogging.  BUT I do want to do it if that counts as anything.
  11. Izacc has been going to Kindergarten transition at his new school.  He will be going to Kindergarten in 6 weeks.  His birthday is on the first day of school.  How in the world did this happen?!?!  Wasn't I JUST changing his diapers?!
  12. I miss Dawson's Creek.  There I said it.  Don't judge.
  13. It has been so hot in this house.  SO HOT.  No kidding, the other day I had 4 fans going, 3 ceiling fans going, the window air conditioning unit going and it was STILL 80 degrees in the house.  My legs were sweating, is that normal?!  Also I don't wear clothes after 6 pm.  It's bulletproof underwear and nursing bra time around here, we can't be bothered by sweaty clothes!!  Sorry for the less than attractive mental image, but it's true.  Deal with it.
  14. You know at the end of The Wedding Planner when Mossimo says, "She loves you, Steve."?  That part cracks me up every.time.  Just the way he says it...and the fact that his name is Steve...what?!  Have I not told you that joke?!  Okay, well we'll save it for another day, just know that was the joke that made me famous.
  15. I think we're going to bless Amelia over Labor Day weekend.  ATTENTION FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!  We're going to bless Amelia over Labor Day weekend.  I think it will work out nicely, we'll have a birthday party for Izacc on Saturday and bless her on Sunday.  Consider yourselves invited!  So me a favor and let me know if you're coming so we'll know how many tacos to make.
  16. I really want to put some crazy highlights in my hair.  Blondes and reds and razored edges.  If only I could take off my head and do my own hair.
  17. I love Steph.   I don't know what I'd do without her in my life.
  18. My Ipod died about 3 months ago and so Thom let me use his...and it hates my computer.  So every time I plug it in, my library gets damaged or some crap and it won't put all my songs on the Ipod.  BOO!  I am severely disgruntled about this since I can't afford to get a new one until, well, EVER...dumb hospital bills...
  19. I had a super cute amazing photographer at the house today to take some pictures of Amelia.  Me thinks they are going to be SUPER cute!  I can't wait to see them!!  She was so patient and funny and kind and Amelia even peed all over her and her things and she was just AWESOME.  I can't wait!!
  20. I am super inappropriate and immature.  Sorry about that.
Ahhh I feel so much better.  Thanks for listening...or reading, as it were...if you made it all the way through I'll make you some cookies...or magic brownies for you, Barf!  Just know there will be a test before receiving said cookies...
Well, Justin Timberlake is on Conan tonight.  Gotta go.

Welcome to We Want to Know Wednesday Q&A

Hosted by Mamarazzi and Queso
Here we go!

#1 What would you do with an extra $1000 a month?
Oh man, the better question is what wouldn't I do, am I right?!  Well, after paying off credit cards and such I would be paying someone to finish our house.  No more of this DIY crap.  And I'd have to let my husband get a new camera.  So when we were done paying for that I'd be buying a new wardrobe and getting my hair did and probably nails too and fo sho getting a new car...a bigger car...a car that would carry my troops and all our crap.  I could get a pretty kickin car for $1000 a month!  And I'd be paying someone to clean my bathroom.  Nothing else, just the bathroom.

#2  What category of blogger do you think you best fall under?
Hmm, I don't really know.  Although I have my funny moments, I don't think I have enough to carry me as a humorous blogger.  I mean I crack myself up all the time, but I don't think it translates to others.
I am a total mommy blogger.  I love my kids and all their antics and since I'm so good at journaling *ahem* my blog will have to do. And I'm a crafty blogger, although I've been slacking a lot on that lately.  Not that I haven't been making stuff, it's just that my ambition to actually post about it is lacking.  Yeah, I'm a crappy blogger, can that be a category?!

#3 What is your go to solution when you are having a bad hair day?  Ponytail and bangs pinned back.  Not the most attractive look but it gets the job done.  When my hair was long it was in a bun with a flower by it, but short hair gives less options.

#4 If you were a Crayon, what color would you be?  Um hello, pink.  Was there even any question?!

#5 They say love is in the little things. What is a little thing someone does to show you love?  My son is almost 5 and has started making sure he hugs and kisses me before bed and if I'm leaving and if he's going somewhere.  And we will be sitting there watching TV and he'll just out of the blue tell me he loves me.  It's so cute and melts my heart.  Last Sunday at church he went to Primary all by himself and so I went to the mother's lounge to take care of the baby.  Pretty soon the primary president came in and seemed concerned.  She said my son needed me.   I asked him what was wrong and he came in, hugged and kissed me and told me he loved me.  It was so sweet and I hope he never grows out of it.

Sunday Sunday Sunday!

I can't decide what I love the most about this picture.
The matching shirts?
The Kool-Ade mustaches?
Ian's rockin hair?
Amelia's face?

I think it's basically the greatest thing I've ever seen.

Have you ever?! I mean seriously?!?!

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

Friday again!
This one came super quick, dang it!
But yeah,I have some serious confessin' to do, so I'm glad it's here!

I confess...
  • I am in love with my baby.
  • It's true, she's basically the best there is.
  • She's cute and small and has the makings of a super mullet.
  • I can't wait for that!
  • She's been having a rough day today though.
  • Not sure what exactly is going on for sure.
  • We've been battling thrush for a week.
  • And by we, of course I mean WE.
  • Oh the burning and itching and all around pain.
  • I can only imagine what it must be like to have it in her mouth
  • Because if it's anything like what I had going on, oh, poor sweet baby.
  • So today all she's wanted to do is eat.
  • Well, eat and poop.
  • And eat.
  • And poop.
  • Seriously 12 diapers today.
  • That can't be normal, right?!
  • And she wouldn't sleep unless I was holding her.
  • And she's wake up and want to eat when I put her down.
  • And then fall asleep and then poop.
  • And then wake up when I changed her.
  • It was a vicious cycle that went on all the live long day.
  • AND I had a headache all day
  • And thought that maybe I could sleep it off.
  • But every time she fell asleep and I laid her down
  • Well, you get the drift, right?!
  • Well, before bed, she had pooped, again, so I laid her down to change her.
  • And I opened up that diaper and it was, uh, green.
  • Like way WAY green.
  • Sorry for the TMI, but I am nowhere NEAR done...
  • When I went to wipe her off, well,
  • It was like a water hose.
  • Or a cannon.
  • A poop cannon.
  • All over my arm and my bed and the floor.
  • And the best part was my mom and Izacc and Ian were all present for the blessed event.
  • And Izacc can't stop laughing about how the baby pooped all over mommy's arm.
  • I tell you all, try not to be jealous of the glamorous life I lead.
  • Am I the only one who needs to thank Fergie for teaching me how to spell glamorous?
  • Because I seriously sing it to myself every time I write that darn word.
  • I know.
  • I'm pretty much as awesome as they come.
  • I have also a small addiction to vanilla shakes these days.
  • Vanilla shakes, vanilla ice cream, and oatmeal cream pies.
  • Seriously I'm gonna gain all that baby weight back in no time.
  • Hey!  I am nursing!  I can eat like that right?
  • RIGHT?!
  • 500 extra calories a day they tell me is what I need.
  • A vanilla shake and an oatmeal cream pie should cover that easy!
  • Oh man.
  • I have been at my Mom's house for a week.
  • They've only got one bathroom.
  • One toilet.
  • One shower.
  • This needs to be remedied soon.
  • Or maybe I should be the one wearing diapers.
  • Either way, I've become well versed in the art of speed showering and flash peeing.
  • Or should it be flash showering.
  • That kinda sounds naughty...
  • And right on cue, my sweet little angel sufficiently filled her drawers for me.
  • Again.
  • Is it wrong to be terrified to open a diaper
  • Because I am.
  • Pray for me...

Something New and Fun!

So...
My Stephy has started doing this fun thing every Wednesday.
And I, being one not to think for myself and follow the crowd, have decided I wanna play too!!
So here we go!

Photobucket

#1 Which activities make you lose track of time?
Facebook.  Freakin facebook!  Not even kidding, it's like a time warp every time I get on there!  That and my daily blog reading.  I only intend to sit down for a few minutes and end up looking at the clock in disbelief hours later.  It's a good thing I can nurse a baby and type at the same time!  Jeesh!

#2 Is there such a thing as perfect?
I like to think so.  My life right now is practically as perfect as it could get I think.  I've got a super fantastic husband who works so hard so I can be a mom, I've got my boys and finally my girl, I've got the best friends a girl could ever ask for.  My house is clean, my baby sleeps for a 6 hour stretch at night, I've lost all but 6 lbs of my baby weight.  Seriously, I am one lucky lady!

#3 When do you feel most like yourself?
I feel like I have more than one self, if that makes any sense at all.  I feel so at home and like myself when I'm on stage, be it singing or in a play.  But I also feel like myself when I'm hanging out with friends and talking and being crazysilly and having those sometimes late night chats where the conversation gets really deep and sometimes emotional and most always laughing til the tears are flowing.  And my newest self is when this whole mom thing really clicks and things are just really good with the kids and hubby and everyone's happy and having fun and everything is going right and I step back and just soak it all in.

#4 Describe your life in a 6 word sentence.
I think I need to pee.   (yup, that oughta cover it!)

#5 Share one of your most beloved childhood memory.
Ooh this is a toughy, I had a pretty stellar childhood.  There is this one memory I have from when I was really little, like maybe 4 or 5.  And we were visiting my Gramma Crapo in Sandy, Utah.  For some reason, my family had gone to bed already and I was still up and chillin' with my Gram.  She lives on a hill in Sandy and has THE most amazing view of the Salt Lake Valley.  Amazing.  And we were looking out her window into the night and there were searchlights going somewhere.  I asked her what those huge lights were and she explained that sometimes people use those to announce when something amazing is happening, when they are trying to get people's attention and spread the news.  My little brain was trying to figure this out and I asked, "Like when someone has a baby?"  My sweet Gramma laughed and told me in her loving way that it was more like a new movie or a car dealership or a evening party of sorts.  It's not really anything spectacular that happened, I just remember how kind and loving she was with me and being able to have a little moment with her was rare and so special.

4 Weeks

Four weeks ago today I was in the hospital, having our precious baby girl.

Four weeks isn't that long, but I'll tell you friends, it seems like she's been with us forever.

Like there was never a time she wasn't here.

Four weeks is all it's been, and I'm fairly certian she fits right in.
