Pink Christmas

Living in the armpit of the West, it's kind of hard to find cute stuff. I have been wanting to have a pink Christmas tree for a couple years now and have been saving ornaments and lights whenever I found them. But do you think I could EVER find a pink pink tree skirt? Yeah no. So I made one.I know it's a little off, but I didn't have a pattern. So, oh well. I like it.

Izacc and I decorated it, he is a great helper!

And here it is! My cute cute Christmas tree! Have you ever seen a more perfect pink tree? It was hard to find, but we got it done. And I love it!

Thom's mom had a heart attack. I know. It was last Wednesday and so Thom and I grabbed some things and drove to Casper. We've been there since then, came home early this morning, just in time for church. She is fine, had two stints put in. It's a good thing Izacc was with my parents, he would have been a terror in that hospital. Needless to say, I don't think I am going to get my Christmas cards out this year...

Oh Where Oh Where Can He Be?

My parents came to Riverton for the weekend and we had a lot of fun. They left about an hour ago...and took my little buddy with them!
Two weeks without my baby Izacc! I am not sure if I can make it that long...I miss him already...

The Perfect Day

So I got this e-mail from a friend and thought it was so super funny! I just wanted to share. I know sometime I feel like I get nothing done in a day, but this kinda made me realize what I actually DO do...
STAY HOME MOM Pictures, Images and Photos

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard.

The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog.

Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing.

In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened.

He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went.

He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?'

She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?'

'Yes,' was his incredulous reply.

She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it.'

I'm from the country...

So I came out of the bathroom today to find this:

I guess it's in his blood?

Check me out!

Hey! I'm a smart pants too! Yipee! My mom would be so proud...I think it's some kind of fluke, because of all the names I have ever been called, smarty pants is DEFINITELY NOT one of them...

We're a couple of Hallo-weeners

My little bug and I celebrating one of the funnest holidays.

He was 2 months old and the cutest little Tigger on the planet. Mommy on the other hand should have gone as a vampire, due to the pasty-white-no-sun-all-pregnant-summer skin...

He was a year here and started to walk the very day before. It was a great Halloween...

Aw Batman. He's getting so old...which means I am too...not fair...

So I found these pictures and realized we had posed exactly the same each year. So now, it's just something we're going to have to keep up I'm afraid.

He was an amazing Batman. He put his costume on and assumed the character. He was posing for the camera and talking in a deep gruff voice. I swear I don't know where he gets this stuff! He has NEVER seen a Batman movie or cartoon (we live in the dark ages and only have DVDs and PBS.) He is something else...and I love him.

Oh, this is a funny story here. Ever seen a two year old cuddle up to a skeleton? My son has this fascination with skulls and skeletons. Apparently once in a store, he pointed to one and I said, trying to play it off as something NOT scary, "He's a funny dude" or "scary dude" or whatever I said, I don' know. Well, from that day on, every time he has seen a skull or skeleton, he calls them a "Dude". Daddy happened to have this little guy in the basement and I brought him up for Halloween, you know, decor and whatnot. Izacc could not keep his hands off him and wanted to take him trick-or-treating with him. He would even talk to him and point out such things as the dude's knees, arms, butt, ect. I hope his friendship with dude will last and not become something to be feared in later years... I hope I haven't created a monster...

Punkins

So this year we decided to be on the ball and go out and get our punkins early and be all responsible and whatnot. So we made a plan and decided to go out on the 10th of October. We had cash, we were ready...except for the fact that good ol' Mother Nature decided to dump a foot of snow on us that weekend. So we ran out to the patch, picked out a couple cute pumpkins and got back in the car, where there was a heater. It was FREEZING but it was fun.

ThOmPsOn!!

Thanks Brookie! This was fun! And kinda funny! Sorry it took so long to post...

ALL ABOUT THOMPSON

Where did you meet?
We met at good ol' Central Wyoming College. He chased me for a long time before I gave him a chance. He actually kinda scared me when we first met because he wore a black leather jacket and was very, um, intimidating. He was exactly the kind of boy my mom told me to stay away from!!

How long did you date before you were married?
Ha ha, well, we dated practically forever before we tied the old knot. We dated for about three and a half years. (I had to make sure I knew what I was doing!) It was a really LONG engagement and I don't recommend it. It was really, really, really difficult, if you ca
tch my drift.

How long have you been married?
We have been married about five and a half years.

What does he do that surprises you?
Oh nothing he does surprises me anymore! I've come to expect his uniqueness! No, I kid. Um, he's pretty sweet and it always surprises me the way he is so super patient with me or Izacc. I don't feel so great these days, you know, stupid morning sickness, and he is so patient and will make me whatever I'm feeling like or get me some ice when it's midnight.

What is your favorite feature of his?
I don't know where to start! He's got a killer smile and his eyes are very, um, nice. And his hands are definitely "daddy" hands, very big and strong. Plus he's got a pretty cute caboose too! :)

What is your favorite quality of his?
You know, that's a hard one too. I really love the way he is so tolerant and kind, especially with my family. He was "thrown" into this giant group of people and took it all in stride. I know it can be hard sometimes! :) But he always plays along and shrugs things off and it really means a lot to me that he keeps the peace.Well, most of the time...

Does he have a Nickname for you?
Um, he calls me Luv a lot and baby. Do those count?

What is his favorite color?
Well, now that's hard to say, it depends on what we're talking about. Probably in general, black. But not necessarily for clothing, he prefers blues and browns there. ANYTHING BUT RED!!! Yikes. Don't even ask, I don't know, just NOT RED!!!!

What is his favorite food?
Again, with the tricky questions. Sheesh, he has a lot of favorites. He really likes to cook and experiment with different things, which I will admit, is not my favorite. But I would have to say he's a steak and potatoes kind of fella, or Chinese Food.

What is his favorite sport?
Yeah, probably soccer...not to play, just watch.Oh and he like to play Battleship, um, too...does that count as a sport?

When and where was your first kiss?
On his couch in his apartment at college. It was a trap I tell you! I had just started thinking about Thom and how I thought I maybe liked him and how I always seem to have these stupid little crushes that never really amount to much. Anyway, so we were at a dance and I was thinking ' do I like this guy? Does he even like me?' etc. ANYWAY I danced with his roommate and he was talking to me and he said "I have an idea! Let's have a movie night!" So he danced me over to where Thom was standing and he said "Can we have a movie night tonight after the dance? Please? Please?" And Thom was alright with it. So I was supposed to bring my roommate with me, who didn't want to go. Well, to complicate things I was supposed to go to Laramie with a friend of mine that night to go on a sort of blind date...he was trying to set me up with his friend that I had met...anyway, I bailed on him to go over to Thom's. When I got there, it was me and Thom and his roommate. And as I walked in, his roommate was all "Oh I just remembered I have to go over to do something" whatever he said and he left. So it was just me and Thom...and then he kissed me. He swears to this day that he had NOTHING to do with that, but it all seems a little TOO convenient, eh?

Favorite thing to do as a couple?
When we were living in Cheyenne, we used to go to Barns and Noble and get a couple Italian sodas and a baked treat from Starbucks and sit there for hours reading and talking. That was a fun little tradition we had. Now, any time that we get together is fantastic. We don't have real tv, just PBS, so we watch a lot of movies and just chill at the house.

Do you have any children?
Yes, we have Izacc who is 2 and a baby in my tummy who is about 4 months along...

Does he have a hidden talent?
Ha ha ha does he ever! He can sing. I know he will kill me for even suggesting such a thing, but he has a voice on him, that one. He swears up and down that he CAN NOT and will not and blah da blah, but I have heard him when he thinks I am not around and he is quite good, actually.

How old is he?
He just turned the big 3-0 on October 13!!

Who said I love you first?
It was totally him! HA! I made sure of that. When we first started dating him, I overheard him talking about how some people rush into things and that he had rules and crap, like never say I love you for at six months to a year, and a bunch of other crap that I think he was just bitter from some previous little lady who broke his heart. Anyway, we dated like 2 months and he came over to my place after playing paint ball all day. Wait, let me explain. I was, well, it was that time of the month anyway and I was crampy and crabby and just all in all in a bad old mood. I was watching Selena and he came over and sat down in front of me on the floor. It was a lovey dovey part of the movie and I said some cynical remark about how love is a bunch of crap or something and he laughed and looked at me and said "I love you" and kissed me. I didn't say anything! Not a word! So he left, said he had to go shower and I started crying! I couldn't believe it. So the next day he said it again and I said it back, but he will tell you that I really crushed him by not saying anything and if I hadn't said it the next time he did, that was it, we were through! Ha, he's funny.

What is his favorite type of music?
Um, probably rock. I'm pretty sure back in the day he listened to hair bands and butt rock, and he can still name the songs when they come on the radio, but he's mellowed out a little.

What do you admire most about him?
I admire the way that he can speak his mind. He can get into trouble a lot, mostly with me, but he doesn't care about sugarcoating it and it seems to get him far at work and when I need someone to yell at an annoying person on the phone. I wish I could be more assertive.

Do you think he will read this?

Maybe, if I show him where it is...

TAG!

Okay, so apparently I've been tagged. Here's how you play: Once you've been 'tagged', you have to write a blog of 7 weird / random facts/ habits/goals about yourself. At the end choose 6 people to be tagged, listing their names. You can't tag the person who tagged you, since you can't tag me back - let me know when you've posted your blog so I can see your answers.

7 Random things:

1. I have a degree in theatre and love everything about being on stage. Singing, acting, it's an obsession really and I think the only thing that will get it out of my system is embalming f
luid. I really love being in the spotlight, but secretly want to be a math teacher or an accountant.

2. I love being a girl, which is SO far from where I was like 8 years ago. I used to be sort of a tom boy, short hair, jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. Minimal make-up, hung out with boys. I don't exactly know what happened, but somewhere along the way I snapped. Now I love pink and jewelry and Coach bags and Roxy and make-up and pedicures and acrylic nails and, well, practically everything about being a girl. It's all too much fun!

3. I have come to accept the fact that I will NEVER be satisfied with the way I look.
I lose 50 lbs, gain 60 with the baby, lose 30, gain 20, lose 30, get pregnant. It's apparently inevitable and I should just shut up about it really.

4. I miss doing hair, even though the pay sucks, the hours suck and it is a fickle, catty business and there are just some straight up nasty people out there who never think to shampoo. I still love it and miss it. Not to mention I am a product junkie. Ask my hubby, I have literally 2 crates of product that will NEVER be used. Seriously, despite that fact, try and keep me out of a beauty supply. Hee hee, I am SUCH a girl.

5. I miss my friends and being crazy and silly and stupid and staying up all night and getting into deep conversations and laughing until the tears were rolling down our cheeks. I love my husband with all my heart, but boys just don't know how to do that.

6. I have actually dated 3 guys who later turned out to be gay. Not even kidding about this, one I found out about years later, one broke up with me because of it and one hasn't technically "come out" to everyone, but seriously. Was I attracted to the wrong kind of guy or WHAT!! Actually, come to think about it, maybe it was because I WAS kind of a tom boy...hmmm, it's all making sense now...

7. I am too too nice... to a fault, actually. I would give you the shirt off my back, my wallet, and my car to drive if you asked, and not think twice about how I was going to get home. I have been screwed over so many times and yet I still give people the benefit of the doubt.

Okay, now I get to tag people. Hmm, let's see. Okay, I pick Jessica M, Ashley C, Jena D, Arya J, Tara B, and Jo B.

Extreme home makeover...well, a makeover done at home...

Okay, so I have been growing out Izacc's hair now for months and months trying to achieve a cute surfer-boy looking shag. It was almost there and I just couldn't handle looking at it anymore. I couldn't style it, it was always a mess, he basically looked like an orphan. Maybe I'm just hormonal but I couldn't take it anymore. So we sat down in front of the TV, put in a Backyardigans DVD and I have to say, I have cut PLENTY of children's hair and it can be quite the challenge. My goodness, I do not miss those days. When I was in beauty school, they always told us to never, never, NEVER cut your own child's hair because it will only end up in disaster. I don't know, something about them not being afraid to throw a fit or something. Anyway, my little Izacc is the best kid ever as far as getting his haircut, and has always been! I can't even believe it. I have cut it four or five times now and from the first time I did it, he really didn't even seem to mind. I keep expecting the little evil child to come out...maybe I have spoken too soon... I guess we'll see next time. Daddy hasn't even seen the new do yet, he's been out of town for three days. Hopefully he'll like it...otherwise I may not ever be left to my own devises again!

Oh Izacc

My son Izacc, pretty much the funniest person I know. He is really starting to pick up a lot of words, and trust me, he and I are both grateful for that. His cute little personality is really starting to show through and his imagination is really coming into it's own. He was cracking me up today. He found a box and began to run, full speed through the house with said box on his head. I don't know how he could even see, and after a second it became obvious that he couldn't because he ran smack into a wall.
"Wipeout" he said, and I laughed. Being the funny child he is, he proceeded to replay his little stunt, running into walls and chairs and the tv, yelling "oohhh" or "wipeout" with each hit. But the thing that was cracking me up is the fact that he was saying something that resembled "yeah bub... zer bop... zer bub" in a monotone, raspy voice. I asked him what it was he was saying and he said it again, monotone and growly, "ZER BUP" After several attempts of possible words, I asked him if he was a robot. He screamed "YEAH!! ZER BOP!" So, either that is his way of saying robot, or it is his interpretation of how robots speak. Either way, you gotta love this kid!

RECAP

So we have had a crazy month. We had a giant-sized party for Izacc the day after his birthday. After his first party, I said that I wouldn't do anything big again for awhile. But then somehow it all spiraled out of control and we ended up with a bigger party than last time! Whatever, it was fun. Thom's brother and sister in law and their two kids came, along with Thom's parents...and my parents and Brock, Sevena and Monte and Spencer and Nicole, and our friends Mike and Christine. It was funny that we had so many people come, and the up side we had no leftovers to deal with! So that was great. Izacc got a lot of Wall-e crap, which is his favorite of the moment. Wall-e cake and everything. It was like Christmas for the kid. Really, I am saving some of the gifts he opened up in the closet. When Christmas does roll around, he's getting them...again. He will never know.

My family and Mike and Christine stayed for the weekend, since it was Labor Day, and we had some kind of crazy Rock band marathon. It was so much fun and everyone got a chance to play. It was like musical chairs, no pun intended.

Brock, Spencer, Camie, Nicole, and Mom

Brock, Spencer, Sevena and Monte, and Nicole.

Mike, Christine and Mom.

Thom left on
Labor day for work. (He travels a lot.) I had planned on going to Salt Lake for a week and then to my mom and Dad's for a week, but I decided the house was too cold and lonely so I decided to make an early start of it. So Izacc and I left on September 2 and went to Star Valley, which meant we got to celebrate Uncle "Pee"'s (Spencer's) birthday on the 3rd with him.

We stayed there until Friday, when we headed to Salt
Lake. My little cousin, Kody, got baptized that next day. Izacc and I then just spent the week hanging out with friends and relatives. We also did some freezer corn and canned peaches. It was fun The night of the 11th, we had a girl's night and my mom and I, along with my aunt Liz, my aunt Kim, my cousins Sarah, Amy, Jeni and Sis in law Nicole
all went out to see Mama Mia! I had seen it before, but it was just so much dang fun! My
mom and Liz were dancing (we sat in the back!) And we were all singing and it was so fun to be out without babies and husbands. We went to the LATE show though. Whew, I am getting old when I feel like such a rebel for being out after 10pm!

My cousin Jessica got married on the 12th and it was simply beautiful. She's so cute. That's her new husband, CJ.

And you know me, I can't go anywhere without getting my hands into someone's hair! My little cousin, Emma, was Jessica's flower girl and I did her hair for the wedding. She was adorable.

It was kind of funny, there were a lot of us

without spouses there. My aunt April, my cousin Jeni, Me, my cousin Sarah, Nicole, my mom, my cousins Elizabeth and Melissa, and Amy was there on the end, even though her husband was "technically" there, he was playing videographer, so he was busy. We all ended up sitting in the same row at the wedding. Singles for the weekend.

It was a lot
of fun and it was good to see everyone, all my family. I miss living down there and seeing everyone on a more regular basis.

We then trekked back to Star Valley and spent another week with the fam. Thom joined us on the 19th and he and Brock went on the hunt for firewood. We also celebrated little Monte's first birthday.
Sevena made a super cute cake and it was a lot of fun.

Again with the hair! My mom was in need of a retouch and I talked her into letting my cut it short. I like it, no I love it, I hope she does...

Finally we arrived back
home and are trying to get settled back into the swing of things. We went to the doctor yesterday and found out everything looks good. I guess now is good as a time as any to break the news, we are having another baby! Izacc has been saying this since the end of July, actually. He would touch my tummy and say "baby" and it would make me sad because we've been trying for almost a year. So when I found out, I was super excited and then surprised when he started saying "two babies" He was right about me being prego, so I was a tad worried. I don't even know what I would do with twins!! But the Dr said yesterday that there was only one. I was relieved, but Izacc looked at the ultrasound picture and he keeps saying "two babies" Who knows, maybe he's talking about himself and the new baby...I hope.
